For the candidate

A good match
A successful career

Good assessments lead to greater self-insight and better decisions throughout your career. They help you find the right place for you, so you can thrive in a job that perfectly suits your talents and in an organisation where you feel happy.

Reliable professional tests
for maximum reflection and self-insight

What is truly right for you?

People perform best in a position that matches their talents, drives and interests. Your job has to be challenging and suit your competencies, where there is room for growth. You have to be able to develop. You have to get along well with your colleagues and your supervisor. Assessments are designed to provide insights, so you are better able to assess what position and what organisation are right for you.

  • What is an assessment?

An assessment is an evaluation or examination. These assessments are used to examine your personal characteristics, interests, qualities, drives and capacities. An assessment generally consists of several components. These may include personality questionnaires, intelligence tests, video assessments, role-playing scenarios and interviews.

Sometimes, an assessment may also include a practical assignment or a knowledge test. You can ask about the components that make up your assessment beforehand.

The information gathered during the assessment is used to draw up a report with conclusions that serve as answers to a question. This can be done for a client: “Are you right for this position?” or for yourself: "What position is right for me?” or: “Is this position fitting for me?”

  • What should I do to prepare?

If you are reading this, that probably means you are about to take part in an assessment. Many people find that exciting! It is also a lot of fun. If you do not have much experience with assessments yet, it is advisable to prepare well. How do you do that? Here are a few practical tips:

    - Make sure you understand the purpose of the assessment.

    - Take care of practical matters. Where will the assessment be conducted and how do you get there?

    - If you are taking part in an online assessment at home, it is important to make sure you have a quiet place to sit with a stable internet connection and a modern web browser. Try to find a time and place where you can work uninterrupted.

    - Complete some example tests to get a better idea of what to expect. Some organisations will offer candidates the opportunity to practise.

    - Above all be yourself. At the end of the day, it's you who has to do the job, so it's best that it's a job that actually suits you.

  • Ixly's tests

It is quite likely that your assessment will include an Ixly test. Various assessment agencies use our tests, as does the UWV and different other major organisations. We strive to develop our tests in a thorough, scientifically substantiated, reliable and valid manner. For that reason, our key tests are independently reviewed by COTAN, the committee of the Dutch Association of Psychologists (NIP) that evaluates the quality of tests. We also do our best to improve our user experience, e.g. by keeping less pleasant tests as brief as possible, and offering various types of innovative tests and games.

  • After the assessment

You should receive a report during or soon after your assessment. Be sure to read this report carefully. We all have our positive and less positive qualities. Although it is more fun to read about your positive aspects, you actually learn the most from those points that you can still improve or strengthen. You should therefore not be too bothered by things that may feel like negative feedback. All feedback in your assessment report is meant to be constructive, you actually learn the most from those points which indicate room for improvement.

  • Privacy

At Ixly, we take your privacy and the security of your personal data very seriously. We do everything we can to ensure your personal data are processed in a legitimate, honest, transparent, responsible, accurate, confidential and limited manner. In other words, your data are in safe hands with us.

Ixly operates in compliance with the GDPR. We strive to implement the highest possible level of awareness of and compliance with the principles of information security in our products and our infrastructure. The same goes for our daily activities. Our Sub-Data Processing Agreement (DPA), Privacy Policy and Data Processing Agreement have been revised in accordance with the Schrems II and SCC GDPR requirements.

As a candidate, you have the right to revoke your permission to process your data at any time. Any data that were processed until the moment of revocation of your permission remain legitimately processed.
